Junipry is an online business directory that helps people discover service businesses and professionals, and helps business owners present and manage their public profile.

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you give us
- Account data — name, email address, password (stored hashed), profile photo
- Business profile data — business name, description, category, address, phone number, email, website, opening hours, services, logo, and photos
- Claim requests — your name, email, phone number, and your stated role at the business
- Inquiries and reviews — the name, email address, and message content you submit
- Correspondence — messages you send us by email or contact form
2.2 Publicly available business information
Some directory listings are created by us using information that is already publicly available, such as a business name, category, general location, phone number, and public website or social media links. This is business contact information, not personal information about a private individual, and it is used to build a public directory.
If you are associated with a listing and want it corrected, updated, or removed, email privacy@junipry.com and we will action your request.
2.3 Information collected automatically
- Usage data — pages viewed, links clicked, time on site, referring page
- Device data — browser type, operating system, device type, approximate location derived from IP address
- Cookies and similar technologies — see Section 7
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate, maintain, and display the directory
- Create and manage user accounts and business profiles
- Verify and process profile claim requests
- Deliver inquiries from visitors to the relevant business
- Send transactional messages (claim confirmations, password resets, inquiry notifications)
- Send occasional emails about the Service to business owners and subscribers, where permitted by law
- Detect and prevent spam, fraud, and abuse
- Analyse usage so we can improve the Service
- Comply with legal obligations
4. Legal Bases for Processing (UK/EU Visitors)
Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we rely on:
- Legitimate interests — operating a business directory, publishing business contact information, preventing abuse, and improving the Service
- Consent — non-essential cookies, and marketing email where consent is required
- Contract — providing account and profile features you have signed up for

5. Email Communications
We send two kinds of email:
Transactional email — account, claim, and inquiry notifications. These are necessary to operate the Service.
Directory and marketing email — messages about your listing, features, or our services. Every one of these includes an unsubscribe link and our physical mailing address. You can opt out at any time, and we will honour the request promptly. We do not buy, sell, or rent email lists.
6. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Publicly — information you add to a business profile is displayed publicly on the Service, and reviews are shown with the name you provide
- With the relevant business — when you send an inquiry through a listing, your name, email, and message are delivered to that business
- Service providers — hosting, database, email delivery, analytics, and payment providers who process data on our instructions
- Legal reasons — where required by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the public
- Business transfer — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy
7. Cookies
We use:
- Essential cookies — sign-in sessions, security, and core functionality
- Analytics cookies — to understand how the Service is used
- Preference cookies — to remember settings such as dark mode
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Where required by law, we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies. Disabling essential cookies may break parts of the Service.
8. Data Retention
We keep account and profile data for as long as the account or listing is active. Inquiries and reviews are retained while the associated listing exists. Analytics data is kept in aggregated form. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymise your personal data within 90 days, except where we must retain it to meet a legal obligation or resolve a dispute.
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior processing
- Opt out of marketing email

We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA. You have the right to know, delete, correct, and to be free from discrimination for exercising those rights.

We operate internationally, and your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including countries whose data protection laws differ from those where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
11. Security
We use technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls, and regular updates. No online service can be completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
